For the last 30 years, I have loved working with clay. My functional work is wheel thrown and/or slab built. The shapes are simple and elegant with function in mind and often with a touch of whimsy. I use jewel-like glazes with interesting variations due to glaze application and the action of the flames in my gas fired kiln.

My new more organic line of flower arranging vessels is strong and sculptural. The coarse dark brown clay of those pots is one of their main attractions. While being great complements for flowers and plant material, these pots are about the clay and how it moves and sometimes cracks to the touch of the hand or tool and how the glazes interact with the rich dark brown clay.
