A native of Finland, Tarja Cockell taught weaving after receiving her degree in textiles and design. Her current work of creating contemporary wall pieces explores mixed textile media. She makes use of dyes, paints, oil sticks and thread to achieve her subtle color palette. Her simplified images bring out the essence of the forms while leaving space for the imagination.
