My work is a continuation of a journey that began in a sculpture studio while working towards my Bachelor of Fine Arts. After graduation the journey transitioned into an exploration of form and function changing the course of my work from fine art to functional art.

Each piece's origins are rooted in time-honored designs that gradually evolve into a blend of the traditional and the contemporary, both in form and woodworking techniques. These pieces of functional art are designed and built to last through generations and are a small window into the soul of the artisan. I consider every board a gift from nature, not to be squandered, and feel a responsibility to use the material in the best way possible.
