Josh Simpson first experimented with glass when he was a student at Hamilton College in 1970. Over the past forty years, besides being totally immersed in
learning about the art of glass, he has collected rarebooks and airplane engines.
People often want to know the meaning behind Simpson's work,
particularly the Planets. Some think he has a profound understanding of life. Perhaps it is an appreciation and curiosity for what's around him: the sky at night, the changing seasons, and the views he sees down the valley outside his studio. He creates objects
that explore his questions and hopes viewers are inspired to ask their own.
