'Sea Cavern Vortex' Marble
Glass with opal
5"

All of Scott Hronich-Pernicka's glass art is flameworking, a technique using borosilicate glass or what is known as 'hard' glass. The colors come from various metal oxides mixed into the glass. Combining the three dimensional space of sculpture and the importance of color in painting, glass has given him the chance to explore many creative possibilities, both as functional and nonfunctional works of art. His marbles, jewelry, and sculptures are sold at galleries throughout the US, and is in private collections throughout the world.

Scott brings video displays to all his shows to demonstrate this new, exciting art form, and the audience really seems to enjoy learning about and understanding the process.
