A fascination with formal beauty and scale inspires Donna Veverka's interest in architecture and
ornament. She studies the details of classical arches, battlements and elegant public spaces as
examples of balancing weight and light with a restrained use of decoration. These are the
qualities she brings down to the scale of a ring, necklace or bracelet. Sterling silver,
gold and hand forged chains comprise much of her limited edition and one-of-a-kind pieces.
Raised in New York, Veverka received a BFA from Philadelphia College of the Arts (now University of the Arts) in metals
and an MFA in sculpture from Mass College of Art in Boston.
