Robert Ostermeyer and Riki Moss's illuminated sculpture is hand-made from
over-beaten and embedded paper pulp made from compressed banana leaf (aka Abaca, or Manilla Hemp),
pressed into sheets and assembled into unique forms.
Abaca is the perfect material for our times; natural, renewable, beautiful. When lit,
the color is golden, warm, comforting. Light travels over the surface evoking universal forms; the breaking of a wave, the spiraling of shell, reef, river, smoke and cloud.
Each unique piece takes a week to create, dry and assemble.
