Aaron Brown has been making prints for nearly two decades, along with his challenging three dimensional wooden puzzles. Combining the work experiences of both his woodworking design and intaglio printmaking, he developed a plate-cutting technique of using an intricate shape cutting scroll saw to cut his plates. The designs for his prints come to him spontaneously in the moment, as do the abstract drawings he creates. The saw acts as a pen.

Recently, Brown has added large-scale sculpture to his work. Modeled after his prints, the pieces are cut from Cor-ten steel, prized by sculptors because of its ability to develop a beautiful red rust color, at which point the oxidization process halts, thus preserving the steel.
