Why might images look murky and 'broken up' while using the Paradise City site?

This problem is experienced when using AOL's default image settings. By default the AOL displays compressed versions of images for faster downloading, even though those images may have already been compressed by the website's designer. This causes the photo-realistic images for our artists' work, as well as other images on the site, to be degraded. This happens not just on the Paradise City web site, but everywhere on the Web.

AOL users who have an 'external browser' installed, and use AOL for their Internet connection only, will not experience this image degradation (depending on their display settings).

The default image settings can be easily changed. Please see the Help files in the AOL software. (You may want to print the instructions first before you change the settings.)

A reminder for all users: Our images will look best if your display is set at True Color settings(32-bit).

form submission trouble (mailing information, press information, etc.)

If you get an error message when trying to submit a form (your mailing information and such), it is due to your coming to our site from a search engine link that doesn't use our correct updated web address. These links are cached by the search engines and we cannot remove them. Please go to our current home page at www.paradisecityarts.com, and then resubmit your form from the appropriate page. We apologize for this inconvenience, and suggest you create a new bookmark for our current home page.

If you are seeing generic text on this page without font changes or variations, it means your browser cannot handle style sheets webpage formatting, or handling stylesheets is disabled in your browser settings.

All browsers should have Javascript and Stylesheets enabled for best performance.

Because of pop-up blockers, we are not using as many pop-up windows on our site as earlier. Be sure you have your pop-up blocker set to accept pop-ups on our site should you want to see them. Our pop-ups are not advertising in any form, nor do they collect any information about you or your web browsing. They are mostly used on our site to display larger images that are not appropriate for embedding on a page.

Our show-specific Exhibitor Listings and the Artist Showcase use frames to display the image content. Please be advised that frames are not always compatible with the browser's 'back' button or with the Javascript back button. There is a non-frames page available in these sections without the image content for those who have problems with using frames.

Updating your browser bookmarks or favorites frequently is strongly recommended, as exhibitor information and listings for any given show will often change. Many older bookmarks you may have used for our site will no longer work since, as of February 2005, the site layout has been altered.

If you cannot reach an page from a bookmark [404 error], it usually means that the page is no longer on the site, or has possibly been relocated. UPPER and lower case letters matter in all filenames; you may want to check this.

The latest browsers usually have a Flash plugin already installed. If you do not have a working Flash plugin, you may download the plugin from this link. Keeping your Flash plugin updated is highly recommended.
