Born in 1930 and raised in Manhattan, painter and sculptor, Robert G. Osborne, was formerly a contemporary art dealer and Director of the Osborne Gallery on Madison Avenue in New York City. Later, as a private art dealer in 19th and 20th century art, he sold works to private collectors and museums. He retired in the early 1980’s to pursue his original interest, making art. Along the way, he has produced paintings, collage, a series of Constructions, and (most recently) sculpture made of aluminum and glass. His sculptures can be seen at Paradise City Arts Festival in Northampton, Mass; Stage On Main in Orange, Mass.; the Sandwich Glass Museum, Sandwich, Mass.; and at Sculpture at the Mount 2026, Lenox, Mass. He now lives and works in Athol, Massachusetts.

I work primarily in aluminum and glass. My work is about optics, light, architecture and a philosophical approach to seeing (thinking). My larger sculptural works are designed to be displayed outdoors in a garden or on a patio, while the smaller table-top works are appropriate for indoor settings. I also make work which is displayed on the water on a lake or harbor. All work is hand-made and signed.
