SILENT AUCTION BENEFIT PARTNER

Supporting Global Connections at the Paradise City Arts Festival

By Mariah Swanson

Over the years, the Paradise City Arts’ Silent Art Auctions have quietly become a powerful force for regional good, raising more than $500,000 for vital community causes and non-profits. From supporting regional food banks and land conservation to healthcare initiatives, 100% of the proceeds from these auctions go directly to the designated beneficiary. This fall, Paradise City Arts is proud to partner with the International Language Institute of Massachusetts (ILI). Every dollar raised at this season's Silent Art Auction will directly fund ILI’s mission of community empowerment and cultural connection.

More Than a School: A Catalyst for Community

Founded in 1984 in Northampton, ILI is a private, non-profit institution that extends far beyond the traditional classroom. For over 40 years, ILI has cultivated a vibrant ecosystem of students, educators, and advocates dedicated to fostering multicultural understanding and building diverse, resilient communities.

✅ With a distinguished international reputation, ILI’s impact spans a diverse range of critical programming:

✅ Tuition-Free English Classes: Providing essentiallanguage skills for local immigrants and refugees.

✅ Workforce Development: On-site language training tailored for regional employers and their teams.

✅ Academic Excellence: Intensive English courses for international students, alongside world language instruction and private tutoring.

✅ Professional Certification: Premier training for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

✅ Higher Education Pathways: Strategic partnerships with 12 regional and national colleges and universities.

✅ Community Engagement: Diverse opportunities for volunteer tutors and host families.

Breaking Barriers, Building Equity

Language has the power to unite us, but a lack of fluency can create invisible, formidable barriers. Inadequate language skills often lead to systemic marginalization, preventing individuals from realizing their full professional and personal potential. ILI is actively working to dismantle these barriers, advocating for a more equitable, linguistically inclusive society.

At PCA, we believe that fundamental misunderstandings, mistrust, and cultural friction can be overcome when individuals, businesses, and organizations engage with one another with mutual respect. True cross-cultural awareness is essential for global and local harmony.

To streamline this impactful work, ILI launched the IMPACT Fund in 2020, allowing supporters to seamlessly fund everything from free refugee literacy programs to specialized workplace training. All proceeds from this fall’s Silent Art Auction will directly benefit the IMPACT Fund.
