Growing up in the backwoods of Vermont during the ’70s, creativity was shaped by nature. River rocks were our Legos, pennies flattened on train tracks & falling leaves became autumn confetti. Framed by a mother whose mid-century bohemian spirit instilled a sense of beauty, restraint, and authenticity. In the ’90s, I moved from NYC to Los Angeles, first as a professional photographer, collaborating with stylists, editors, and costumers. In 2001, creative curiosity led me to jewelry design. My work is rooted in distillation, creating pieces that enhance rather than overwhelm. A “science of simplicity” guides designs that offer quiet armor against the excess of modern culture. In 2011, back to Bennington, VT to care for elders. Formed relationships with gem cutters worldwide to develop custom gemstones integral to the work. This chapter deepened both my practice and perspective, grounding it in connection, and an ongoing commitment to creating objects of quiet beauty & intention.
