“I’m more interested in being good than being famous.” Annie Leibovitz For over 35 years, I have designed and handcrafted numerous apparel and accessory Collections for women and children. Originally working as a custom tailor and dressmaker in women’s wear, I moved exclusively into children’s couture in 2000. My work blends distinctive silhouettes with the finest fabrics and illustrious signature details: ruched piping, tiny pintucks, hand-finished bindings and linings, fabric-covered buttons, and impeccable topstitching. These elements are skillfully worked with great attention to detail, and techniques of time-honored couture construction. When all is said and done, my work is not your typical ‘cut-and-sew’ Truth be told, I am a frustrated fine arts painter. Transitioning to what I do know how to do, I consider my designs like a canvas, my fabrics my paints, and the sewing machine and hand-needle my brushes. It’s my goal, guided by my training, expertise and creative process, to create art that is easy and fun for the child to wear with exquisite details that delight adults as well. It is a joy to present my work to the public at a show or festival. The reaction is always true amazement at the variety of styles and fabrics I offer, and the details I integrate into each piece. Your respect for the quality of work I produce, and the compliments gratefully received greatly contribute to my creative inspiration.
